A country having a glorious past rich cultural heritage of over 10,000 years that gave to world sciences of Yoga, Ayurveda (herbal medicine), Astrophysics and concept of the number ‘Zero’ without which no modern day scientific discovery and invention would have been possible ! A land of thousand languages and cultural diversity, India values it ancient past and looks forward into the 21st century, is at the threshold of becoming the world’ IT superpower.

The past decade has witnessed the rise of the Indian IT sector from a position of virtual non existence, to one, where it has occupied a place of pride in the global IT industry. India is one of the fastest growing IT markets in the world, the fastest growing PC market in the Asia-Pacific region, and also the country with the fastest growth in Internet usage in this region. In much of the developed world, India today has a substantial mind share amongst those involved in information technology (IT) software and services.

In the last decade, Indian IT exports and Software related services have grown exponentially, according to NASSCOM-Mckinsey study (1999), India is targeted to achieve US$ 50 Billion turnover from Software Exports by the year 2008. Indian IT success in USA needs no introductions, 185 out of the 500- fortune companies outsource their major IT projects to Indian software companies.

All this has been possible because of high availability of trained, English speaking IT engineers. Every year around 170,000 software engineers graduate from various universities and add to the ever-growing pool of Indian IT talent base. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is rated by many as one amongst the top 5 universities of the world.

Many Indian intellectuals, Researchers, Philosophers, Gurus, Doctors, IT engineers and Entrepreneurs find their names amongst the elite of the world.
Founder of ‘Hotmail’, creator of the Pentium Chip and co-founder of Sun Microsystems are just few of the many successful Indians of today’s modern times.
