December 12, 2003: Softbridge Solutions
and Keiwa Business, today entered into a strategic
alliance to jointly develop applications in the
emerging arena of RFID IC tag technology.
This partnership
will enable both organizations to offer comprehensive
software solutions and services to customers in
the Japanese and Asian markets.
Softbridge
will provide software development resources, both
onsite and offshore to complement Keiwa of development
teams in Japan. In addition, Softbridge will market
the RFID IC tag systems and services outside Japan.
The first
RFID IC tag system to be jointly developed by
the two companies will be for managing participant
identification at large events. . The logistics
of this process will be hugely simplified by using
invitations with RFID IC tags embedded in them
Participants can then gain entry by simply holding
the brochure over a reader installed at the entrance.
This will also allow information of the participants
to be automatically stored in a database. The
entire system will be linked to a back-end so
the information is available for additional follow-up
activity.
Keiwa will
be an end-to-end service provider, taking care
of printing, IC tag insertion, IC tag read/write
device technology and application software.
